Other Awel nobles rule from just outside the former city of Boston, with a secondary, unaligned capital of Cahokia in southern Illinois. Many small Ancora and Ankine support cities exist along with other Awel peoples, kingdoms and fiefdoms on the American continents. It is assumed that world at large is similarly organized, although this is not understood to be certain.

The Strangers, and other alien entities, have found their way to Earth. These creatures are met with both welcome and hostilities, depending on the circumstances.
